Time to Dust the Cobwebs Off This Ol' Blog

So remember when I made all those grand promises of deadlines and frequency? That was a joke. But no matter. I'm back, and I'm going to make this thing bigger and better. I've had all kinds of adventures in my personal life since the last time we spoke, and I've come out the other side a more determined individual. One who will get things done, one who will stay on top of it all, one who will actually post entries every now and then. Right now I'm working on posting a whole new line of children's clothing to Etsy, and after I surmount that mountain, I'm going to become a force on here. So watch out online world, I'm coming for you. Next week I'm going to post a tutorial on how to make a Minecraft pillow, I promise!

I'm baaack

So....
Yeah, I definitely did not live up to my goal of posting once a week, it kinda turned out to be more like once a year, but no matter. New year = fresh start, right?

The year of 2014 is going to bring some new and interesting challenges. Specifically: I just got my first full-time job. Woohoo! That's right, I'm a big girl now. So aside from my already crazy schedule, my new goal will be to post here on Mondays, and post on my Etsy page on Wednesdays.

So it turns out my goals for content to be posted here from last spring are still pretty applicable. My quilt is still not finished (this has not stopped me from starting three new ones), I still have a million recipes I want to try out, I have not repurposed any of the antique projects sitting in my basement, and while I did figure out my vendor apron, I still have not been able to sell many :/.

But in good news, I did do a whole two day craft fair last fall, which was a lot different from the six hour Saturday ones that I'm used to, so I promise pictures from that adventure to be the topic of next weeks post. I know, the anticipation might be just too much for you to handle, but you'll just have to sit tight. And I know some of you out there are saying to yourselves, "right, we'll have to wait six months for those pictures," but I won't let the haters get me down.

Oh, what's that you ask? You didn't know I had an Etsy page? Oh how silly of me, I forgot to post the link! Well let's remedy that real quick:

Enjoy!

'Til next week

Already Falling Behind

So my goal was to post at least once a week, and I've already missed my first deadline, talk about starting off on the right foot.

I've got some new projects in mind that I hope to be posting here soon, I just have to find the time to actually do them. Time seems to be in short supply these days. Finals are this week, and while I only have two, I'm still stressing out (that bag of cheetos I bought two days ago is already gone...) But if I can just make it through this week, I'll have a lovely six day break that should cause a lot of checks on the ol' to-do list.

One of these new projects is my vendor style apron, I just made my prototype (because "prototype" sounds better than "first experimental creation with holes and loose stitching and a crooked zipper") and I will be posting pictures here soon. I'm happy with the overall idea and design, and once I get a finalized version, it should be nice and professional and useful. I'm excited.

Other things I hope to post in the future include:

  • My first go at a quilt
  • Some revamped antique boxes
  • Baking concoctions
  • New and original apron designs
  • Love-able and wonky stuffed creations
So I'm off to study and possibly find some more comfort food to shove in my cake hole, but I promise to try and keep to a better schedule of posting and uploading in the future.

'til then

Blog Virgin

So this is my first post on my first ever blog. Pretty monumental, I know. I'm going to keep this short and sweet and just lay out the basics for the moment.

This is going to be the place I post about current projects I'm working on (sewing or otherwise) and hopefully we'll both learn things along the way. Who knows what this may turn out being, but for right now, I hope to post about once a week with news about things I'm working on, and tips and tricks I can show everyone.

So that's about it for right now, see y'all later
